One of the first things they ask you in the ER is to rate your pain on a scale from 1 to 10. I’ve been asked this question hundreds of times and I remember once, when I couldn’t catch my breath and I felt like my chest was on fire, the nurse asked me to rate the pain. Though I couldn’t speak, I held up 9 fingers. Later, when I started feeling better, the nurse came in and she called me a fighter. “You know how I know?” she said, “You called a 10 a 9.” But that wasn’t the truth.
I didn’t call it a 9 because I was brave. The reason I called it a 9 was because I was saving my 10…and this was it.
"A very, very strong woman named Tris Prior, who was not born a superhero. She was not born with innate superhuman powers. Through the evolution of the movie you get to watch her grow, and you get to watch her find her own confidence, which in turn brings her bravery. In my opinion I think, you know, you can be brave and jump off trains, but the truest form of bravery and courage is to wake up every single day and to be ourselves, and that’s something that Tris does. That is something all of us have the opportunity and choice to make each and every morning." - Shailene Woodley
“I was never very rebellious. I never did things to rebel against society, or against my parents, but I did think I knew everything. I thought I knew it all and had it all figured out, and that was it. Then, one day, I woke up and realized I was a dot in this universe, and that quickly dissipated.”
